If you’ve decided to gift your boudoir photos to your partner as a present, I recommend presenting the photos a la one of my custom, lay-flat albums or a linen photo box with matted prints inside. While I take on the design and production aspect of the photo album process, my clients are able to choose which photos they’d like in their album or printed within their box. From there, I work on a design and present it to the client for feedback. Last year, I had one of my clients plan a date night where her and her spouse chose the photos for the album together rather than the client choosing the photos herself and waiting to gift the experience until after the album was complete.
I absolutely love this idea! It invites the giftee into the boudoir experience rather than just the end result. You can surprise your partner with the digital gallery and then sit down with a bottle of wine and a homemade meal and go through them together, picking out your favorites and deciding which you want in the album or print box together.
A recent study showed that holding a physical photograph in one’s hands activates the part of the brain that helps one to remember experiences. By holding a print or album in your hands, you’re actually remembering the experience or time period in your life better than you would by viewing the images on a computer or a cellphone. On a digital screen, we merely skim the image. When we hold it in our hands, we absorb the memory.
My leather-bound lay flat albums are hand-crafted and come in three sizes with the option for a cover engraving and over ten colors to choose from. The album includes ten spreads (twenty pages) each printed on thick, matted archival paper.
Each box includes six prints with museum grade matting. Engraving is available for personalization along with different colored linens and silks to choose from.
Add ons for both the album and print box include engraving, additional spreads or prints, as well as expedited production and rushed printing options.
Both gifts are beautifully designed with luxurious materials and can be kept out in your home discreetly (think book shelf or coffee table) or kept away in a bedroom or bed side table for more privacy.
Due to the subject matter of the photographs, I use a small-batch printer for all of our albums and matted prints and box sets. This printer solely works with professional photographers and artists to limit the number of people who may view your images during the production process. I also offer regular glossy prints in a variety of sizing that can be ordered through your online gallery, however, these are ordered through a large printing company with less privacy so please be mindful when choosing which products to purchase! This also goes for clients who wish to have prints or albums made on their own. While it may be cheaper, the quality and your privacy may suffer.
Many of my clients reach out to me with some hesitation but I promise that every single one of them walks out of their session with confidence and love for themselves. From the very minute you book with me to the delivery of your gallery, I’ll be there to support you along the way. I’ll share with you my Boudoir Bible that will cover everything you need to prepare for your session from what to wear, where to shop, and how to feel your very best self in front of the camera. During your session, I’ll model each pose for you and give you small prompts; I’ll also be cheering you on so that you feel supported and cared for the entire time. As someone who booked their own boudoir session a few years back, not only am I an expert behind the camera, I now know what it feels like to be on the other end of it, as well. I am confident that with the right preparation, I can help you look and feel better than you’ve ever felt in front of a camera, even in your underwear.
